Happy 8th birthday!

Hannah requested a fancy breakfast at la durée on the Champs Elysées for her special day. what a treat for all of us!

After breakfast we started our search for the perfect birthday cake.  Originally she wanted a piece montée of macarons, but I didn’t know they needed to be ordered 48 hours in advance.  So we ended up getting 10 individual macarons and 1 big macaron with the thought that we’d make our own.  After lots of walking, we found a patisserie that had just what she wanted - a chocolate cake that she could decorate with the macarons.  Cake in hand, we taxied to the apartment to drop it off, then head over to the Eiffel Tower.

We had a fun time exploring the different levels of the Eiffel Tower and engaged in some of the interactive exhibits.  Hannah loved the glass 1st floor, but I couldn’t bring myself to stand on it.  You can see all of the people below her.

Next stop was dinner at the restaurant from Saturday that she had liked, just around the corner from our apartment.  Our server was so sweet and sang happy birthday to Hannah in English!

Then it was home to make and eat our cake and off to bed.
